UK online and land gambling company Leisure & Gaming (L&G) has released first half year results it says meet expectations. The company says its estimated earnings before interest and taxation are Euro 1.2 million.
Also released with the results is L&G’s assertion that its Italian customers can expect online poker services by the end of 2008. L&G says it will continue to boost its marketing efforts aimed at the Italian gambling market and says it expects to have its Italian betting shops operating under new Bersani licences by mid-August.
L&G chairman Philip Parker commented on the company’s expectations to be able to offer online poker to Italian customers by the end of the year, saying: “We are in a very strong position to continue to grow and capitalise on the many opportunities in the Italian market.”
The relaxing of the online gaming market in Italy is part of a general trend towards regulated open markets in Europe. Many online casinos, such as Windows Casino and King Solomons Casino, are seeing the trend as an opportunity to expand operations into new markets.
